• 2017 EWA Conference

    Nov 29, 2017

    Join Us In Chicago . . .

Women are an important thread in the fabric of American agriculture. Today, women make up more than 30% of farm operators! More young women are returning to the farm to manage human resources, financial reporting, record keeping, as well as production and technology areas on working farms.

With endless opportunities and challenges in farming today, the need to provide education on farm business practices has never been greater. Top Producer is proud to offer the Executive Women in Agriculture (EWA) conference, an event dedicated exclusively to women in agriculture.

Now in its seventh year, EWA draws nearly 250 producers and agribusiness professionals from 28 states and Canada!

EWA features dynamic keynote speakers and educational breakout sessions, as well as unique networking opportunities for women farm owners and operators from around the country.

Rena Striegel, President of Transition Point Business Advisors, will be giving a presentation entitled:  “Leading Through Change: Six Strategies to Help You Stay Focused and Reduce Stress”.

  • 2018 Practical Farmers of Iowa Conference

    Jan 19, 2018

    Practical Farmers of Iowa Conference

The Practical Farmers of Iowa Conference is happening on January 19, 2018 at the Scheman Building in Ames, Iowa.

Practical Farmers’ Annual Conference has been the backbone of Practical Farmers of Iowa since their founding, when farmers looking to improve diversity on their farms gathered to share their knowledge openly with others. From the days when these informal get-togethers took place at someone’s farm and were known as “the Annual Meeting”, to the surging interest in pragmatic, sustainable farming solutions.  It is these solutions that in 2003 necessitated a shift in rhetorical scope from annual “meetings” to a “conference,” to the ongoing up-welling of farmers seeking practical yet profitable and ecologically sensitive ways to farm.  The annual conference has been a hallmark of what Practical Farmers stands for: farmer-to-farmer learning, networking, and grassroots solutions to on-farm challenges for a more diverse, sustainable agricultural landscape.

This annual conference is one of the premier events in the Agriculture and Forestry Industry and is open to everyone. The event attracts farmers of all sorts, sizes, systems and enterprises, as well as non-farmers interested in knowing more about how their food is grown and building relationships between those who work the land and those who rely on their labors. From pre-conference short courses that run the day before and morning of the conference, to in-depth workshops, round tables, breakfast meetings and a rich array of sessions in several core tracks – those who attend are sure to come away with valuable working knowledge to improve their farms and enrich their lives.
